Simple | Sustainable | Slow handmade textile and jewellery designs inspired by the natural world and the colour blue.

My intention is to create designs that are as organic and as affordable as possible for you. In a world where we are inundated with objects, many made from plastic, I'd like to think that these designs will not only be enjoyed and valued by you for years to come, but if you do feel it is time to part, you will pass it forward to a friend, rather than throw it away.

I've always been a bit of a minimalist at heart so I have found my making of contemporary pearl, crystal and seed jewellery and handprinted indigo organic textiles seem to reflect this. With a little twist of the abstract from time to time to keep it interesting. Oh yes, and the colour blue seems to be a feature!

If you'd like to know more of what inspires me on a daily basis I'm online here:

PLEASE NOTE: MADE TO ORDER
From time to time some indigo shawls sells out so I change the listing to MADE TO ORDER. This allows me time to make another small batch. Please don't hesitate to purchase a MADE TO ORDER shawl and it will be delivered to you within 3-4 weeks. This is a slow creative process, requiring the help of Mother Nature to air cure the indigo, binding it to the fabric. Thank you for your understanding and appreciation of slow making. mbp x

Frequently asked questions

Textile Care instructions

These items are created using an ancient Japanese method for impregnating fabric with indigo pigment. It is an organic process and can take up to 30days for the fabric to cure. It is highly recommended that you hand wash your textiles in a gentle manner with gentle fabric wash. Dry out in the shade and if needed, use a cool iron.

Jewellery Care instructions

Some items are made using a gold or silver coloured Japanese bead wire which is soft and flexible, however, will crimp if you handle without care. DO NOT bend the wire but rather hang the piece when you are not wearing it on a hook, a picture or similar to avoid damaging it.

Eco Friendly gift wrapping and packaging

Items are gift wrapped and packaged carefully. Plastic wrapping i.e. bubble wrap is avoided wherever possible, preferring reclaimed or recycled tissue paper and cloth. My aim is to keep packaging minimal, eco friendly and compostable. Items are shipped in tough paper bags or slim boxes. This flat-packing method saves considerable shipping costs. If you have any special requests please convo or email me - mbpbluedesigns@gmail.com. Thank you.

Wholesale availability

Please note that I do not offer discounts for bulk orders. If you are interested in placing a wholesale order, please email me - mbpbluedesigns@gmail.com.

International Shipping

I use Australia Post - Standard International Delivery - service for parcels. This DOES include tracking which is more expensive, however, I feel gives both you and me a greater level of confidence your parcel will arrive safely. Please note - if multiple items are purchased the shipping may be more. It's always best to check so please convo me and I am happy to give you a quote. Thanks.

Delivery

Once a package is shipped I can not be responsible if your package does not arrive in time for a special occasion. I do my very best to get items shipped as quickly as possible. I ask that you are aware of these postage times and conditions prior to placing your order. Sometimes parcels are delayed for several weeks in international customs. If you do not receive your package please notify me within 30days of ordering.
